We’re really excited to have been commissioned by the Cranborne Estate to create a portfolio of pictures for their website, the estate extends into Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire .
The Estate comprises multiple business units including an amazing Garden Center which is located in the original cob-walled garden of the Manor House, Farming and Forestry, an Estate Shop and specialist Butchery, a Joinery, and a Christmas Tree Plantation as well as extensive woodland which is classified as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
The photography project will stretch across several months as the garden center has only just burst into life with Spring blooming plants though the majority of the rose stock, which the center is renowned for, are yet to come into bloom and we wish to include the swathes of colour in the portfolio. We still have the challenge of photographing the Estates herd of White Park cattle, which will have a real pastoral charm and hopefully I will be able to include the Manor House in the background. One project in the commission that has been wonderfully therapeutic has been the photographing the bluebells in the Estate’s private woods; being still and observant in such peaceful surroundings has been deeply rewarding.
Below I’ve embedded a montage of woodland bluebells, click on video to play.
I will be refreshing our Commercial Photography showreel to include images from the Cranborne Estate shots.
Regards, Simon.
